We are really excited to be carrying a new local producer – Pink House Alchemy! Their line of handcrafted, simple syrups and shrubs fill a niche that at this point has not existed in the region – high-quality, small-batch ingredients for making delicious cocktails at home. For those not familiar with simple syrups or shrubs, here is a quick guide:
Simple Syrup – Simple syrups are a mix of sugar, water and flavor (from infused herbs and spices) that you can add to a drinks including cocktails and sodas.
Shrub – A shrub is an old fashioned drink mix that uses a vinegar base infused with herbs and spices.
Pink House Alchemy is a recent addition to Fayetteville. They started small, providing their syrups to the Arsaga’s coffee shops and selling sodas at the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market. With the help of the University of Arkansas (through the U of A’s very cool Arkansas Food Innovation program – read more here), they have been able to expand to provide to local restaurants like Greenhouse Grill and, now, to sell direct to the public! Here at ONF, we are carrying their Blueberry Thyme syrup, Blackberry Sage syrup, Winter Spice syrup, Blood Orange Clove syrup, Pineapple Rosemary shrub and Apple Fennel shrub. Because they are made in small batches, Pink House Alchemy will be able to offer lots of new, seasonal flavors. So make sure to check the shelf often.
