Hey everyone, hope you all got everything you needed from OAW this past weekend. I personally stocked up on my quinoa for the winter!
Well, I am also super, super excited for this week. Wednesday, the 24th is National Food Day so I thought, why not make a week out of it? I mean we are kind of all about food here anyway! Let’s celebrate it! We have different activities planned throughout the week and I really hope you can make it to some of them:
On Monday we are having a Harvest Garden Celebration at Butterfield Elementary from 3-4:30. We will be showing you how to put your garden beds “to bed” for the winter. We will also have some root vegetables snacks!
Tuesday evening, from 5-7 pm, we will be having a cooking demo with Kim O’Donnell. She is the author of The Meat Lovers Meatless Cookbook! She will be preparing some tasty treats, so stop by the Co-op that night!
Wednesday, October 24th is National Food Day! We are going to celebrate by having a local potluck at Tri Cycle Farms. We will have live music, local foods, and a farm tour! This is a great event for the whole family. Also, we encourage you to bring one of your favorite dishes to the potluck! Please park at Trinity United Methodist on the corner of Garland and Sycamore, walk across Garland towards the rock house. Walk down the driveway and behind the house you will find the farm.
Thursday we will be having our sample day but it will be even better! We will be sampling Crofters Organic Jam. Mike Thompson will also be here that day sampling his delicious popsicles.
Friday, we will end the week with a reception at Nightbird Books. We are going to be showing our Farm Documentary and we will be serving hors d’oeuvres. We will have this from 6-9pm. Nightbird Books will be selling beer and wine, as well, for this event.
I am so excited for this week and I hope you all can make it out to some of these awesome events! If you have any questions about an event going on, please email me at heather@ozarknf.coop or call the store at (479) 521-7558!
